Dr Stefan Breitenstein has a broad banking and finance, corporate and private client practice. He advises regularly on international and domestic transactions, including, in particular, financial regulatory matters. His practice focuses on structured debt finance, real estate finance, financial services, regulatory and general banking. He is admitted as an Expert to the SIX Swiss Exchange for listing purposes. Stefan Breitenstein heads the Private Client group of Lenz & Staehelin's Zurich office and is co-chairman of the banking law practice group of the Zurich Bar Association.
Stefan Breitenstein graduated from the University of Zurich in 1983 and was admitted to the Bar in 1986. He studied at the College of Europe (Diplome des Hautes Etudes Europeennes in 1984) and completed his doctoral thesis at the Zurich University in 1987. In 1988 he obtained an LLM from the Harvard Law School, USA. Stefan Breitenstein has been a partner at Lenz & Staehelin since 1994. He speaks German, English and French.
